I had a service contract with this company that ended last year. When I tried to renew it (Their service was OK), they said that since they had to pay out a claim prior, they were not interested in renewing. Obviously to them a good customer is one that never costs them a dime!
I have had much better luck with HSA. Wonder why they are not listed on the site?
Jim,
Thanks for the comment. We have added the Company HSA Home Warrenty (http://homeshieldscam.com/2008/12/hsa-home-warrantyhsa-home-warranty/) to our company list.
We have had Old Republic on 3 of our last 4 homes. I have had great service on both big and small items (water heater replaced, washing machine repairs, main line cleared, leaking faucets, etc.) and have pleased with both their staff and the service people they sent.
We have been in this house now almost 3 years and because of the service we received, we renewed each year. I know they paid out on my house, but we had no problems renewing the warranty (like Jim spoke about). I would highly recommend them and have done so to friends and family. My father-in-law has been with them for over 10 years!!
Kay,
Do you have any idea what the total amount of repair costs were? I was wondering if that might have something to do with it. My AC repair was almost $5000 and had a lot of things that Old Republic said were not required. I fought that until they ended up paying it.
Jim,
I don’t, but I would expect it was well below $5000.00.
I have one of these home warranties on my home and we recently had to utilize some of the coverage contained therein. The service was prompt and the problem was fixed very quickly. I am so impressed with the service!
“Kay” is an Old Republic Employee. I am researching to fight the company and she is on all the sites to defend them. On another site, she IDs herself as

I have quickly learned that they are little more than a scam. They denied our claim without even investigating the problem. They said it was a pre existing condition even though the appliance was working when we bought the house and the plan. I want my money back. How can I trust them for anything larger than the $150 microwave they wont fix? I can not. You should not.
We have made 3 a/c claims, a plumbing problem and a dishwasher all of which were handled promptly and by good workers…couldn’t be happier AND I never could have afforded all these repairs in the 9 months that we’ve had the house!! Highly recommend!!
