Home Trust Warranty sees many complaints in the normal course of business.  Before you call them to file your claim, you should take a second and create your game plan to resolve your issue with them.  Some suggestions from HomeShieldScam.com are:

1)  Download and complete our “Make a Claim” check list.  These important facts can make the difference between seeing a claim resolved and not.  At the end of the day, your goal is to have your appliance repaired by Home Trust Warranty.  Do everything that you can to get this done!

2)  Review our maintenance tips.  These are not just for preventing issues.  One of the common excuses that a home warranty company with give for not paying a claim is that the appliance was not maintained properly.  Doing a few minutes of preparation on the unit may just save you some hassle from the first round of rejections.

3)  Review our FAQ section.  Make sure that you understand your policy and that you know what questions are likely to be asked of you.

4)  Explore some of the alternatives to a Home Warranty with Home Trust Warranty.  It is important to know these so that you can understand what your options are if your claim is not resolved completely.

5)  If you have already made a claim, and Home Trust Warranty has sent out a service tech to your home, check out the tech that they sent on a review service such as Angie’s List.

(6)  Help others!  Take a minute to let us know about your experience with Home Trust Warranty!  Make notes on the tactic that you used, if it was successful or not, and things that you might do different next time.

I went to Home Trust Warranty because I got screwed by National Home Protection and Home Trust Warranty did the same actually worse then NHP did. At least NHP paid for some of my repairs, but Home Trust Warranty just plain out denied me. How do you deny someone if they pay you for coverage for when it is needed. I paid them up front for my coverage and they sent someone out that I had to pay $100 to, and then I kept calling both the tech they sent out and Home Trust Warranty and neither would return my call for 3 days. I finally got a hold of someone at Home Trust Warranty and they were rude and told me write an appeal but it wouldn’t do anything so I am wasting my time. What kind of service and protection is that?

    Very upset,

    HOME TRUST WARRANTY
Claim was refused on A/C unit and the reason given was that the failed return fan was not a part of the unit. It is true that it is an auxillary fan but, under section L. EQUIPMENT ELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE/CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT PUMP;COVERED:”related components attached to said air conditioning units.(Must be centrally ducted.)” My auxillary fan meets these requirements. I was told “No” because “I don’t understand.” That is not sufficient. I am an Engineer by profession and I do understand. “No” is not an adequate explaination and is incorrect. The fan was not an “add on” and was part of the original installation, automatically controlled and centrally ducted. I feel “ripped off” and will be shopping around as my renewal is due.
